Bishop Whittaker began his ministry in 1968 as an unlicensed minister with the Church of God in Michigan. He served as an evangelist, ministering across Michigan, and anywhere doors were opened. In April of 1970, Bishop Whittaker, along with his wife Joyce, and their children moved to Cass City, Michigan, where they founded the "Riverside Church of God", which has been renamed "Living Word Church of God". He and his family served as Senior Pastor in Cass City for seven years. And in March of 1977 they transferred to Monroe, accepting the position of Senior Pastor of the "Roessler St. Church of God". Several years ago the name of the Church was changed to, "Victory Temple Church of God", and in October of 2013 the Church relocated to 11166 S. Dixie Hwy, just north of Erie, Michigan. |
Victory Temple is a Pentecostal Church, and a member of the Church of God Cleveland Assembly. |
